Hi all

We have based ourselves in Townsville for a next few days to catch up with Darryl and Pam, as well as wait for Terry and Kerry to arrive as from here we will be heading west towards Darwin.

One of our first things we wanted to do was to attend the Roosters v Cowboys football game, so that we could get a feel for what it is like to watch footy in balmy, sub tropical conditions. But!!!............as luck would have it, it rained throughout the whole game, and it also just so happens to be that the Cowboys home stadium must be the only stadium where not one seat is uncover. So we sat in the rain..........at least the Roosters won.

Other things we did during our stay were;

- Have lunch on the strand, which is a landscaped esplande which runs along city.

- Skip over to Magnetic Island for the day.

- Attend the local markets

Went to the races and Mum was the winner of the day I think it was a record crowd with about 20 people there, they where rushed off their feet.

Boys found a great spot in the caravan park to play footy with the football the Hunter had won on the trip and now belongs with a family of crocs after being kicked into the creek behind us......hence no one volunteered to go get it.

Finally Kerry and Terry arrived less two bikes and a bike rack but they can tell you their adventure later.
