Hi again.

Next town on the things to do list is Karumba, which is a fishing/prawning village on the shores of the Gulf of Carpentina. So we departed Cobbold Gorge and headed north via Georgetown (best lamingtons we have had for a loooooong time!!), Croydon (with a quick stop to change a blown tyre on the van...thanks Terry for helping to change, Darryl....well?), and Normanton (will check it out on the way back)

As we hadn't had much luck during our adventages in the fishing department, we decided to seek help from the professionals and book a fishing charter in the gulf.

Although barramundi continues to be just a dream (or a fraud!), we were able to catch a great haul of blue nose salmon and bream. Winners for the day were Terry (2 salmon, 3 bream including winning the biggest catch.....just don't ask him or he will just go on and on and on about it!) and Bec and Hunter, with Darryl just managing to avoid the dredged 'nudie run'.

Other great activity we attended were;

- the annual state of origin bbq at the Karumba Tourist Park, especially as we were in QLD territory and NSW won!! (Talk about a mass walk out, not many people stayed to see who was man of the match)

- a few sleepy ales at the the pub over looking the gulf
