Geraldton - Kalbarri
Cool, cloudy and rainy. 19 degrees
So time at last to leave Geraldton, after arriving here 9 days ago for what was supposed to be a one night stay!
Rather miserable morning, raining and very cool breeze. Back to the pants and jumpers.
We left about 10 for the two hour drive to Kalbarri. It rained for most of the trip.
Kalbarri is a very pretty town on the ocean and the Murchison River. We decided to stay at the Anchorage Caravan Park which is right on the river, and we have a site that overlooks it. So very peaceful. Lots of birds in the park too. The weather had cleared up by this time, still cloudy and cool but no rain.
Later we went to have a look at the viewing spots over the ocean. Natural Bridge is rather like what London Bridge was like at Port Campbell before it fell down. Walked a fair bit, but couldn't do the last view point of the town as I was too tired and had walked enough. So I stayed in the car while the boys walked up there.
Unfortunately Kalbarri National Park is closed at the moment as they are asphalting the roads. Pity as apparently a lot of the sights to see there are a very easy walk and I could have managed it. Very frustrating!
Came back home and had a dinner of sausages, pork steaks and vegetables. Lauri and Ben are doing all the cooking. By this time I was back on the bed having a rest. Will be so glad when I get back to normal.
