The lesson learnt from previous nights was not to mix drinks, thankfully we stuck to that and the hangover was minimal. The noodles Laura bought me when she came in last night were a really good call I felt. She was quite tired when she woke up, eventually and I had already gone for breakfast. Whilst eating under the veranda area it started to rain quite hard. The sound of the rain drumming on the roof above me was relaxing. The rice soup and toast instantly made me feel better whilst I caught up on events happening around the world.
The daytime proved very unproductive apart from getting stuck into our novels we were reading. The rain and thunderstorms had been on and off all morning and the atmospherics were playing havoc with the electricity supply causing intermittent power cuts. I ventured into town for hangover food consisting of noodles and crisps from the 7-eleven. I met a couple of people from the party last night and said hello in passing. Yesterday we had agreed with Kratos to try a well known buffet that a cooking school in town puts on three times a week. We would meet at 6:45pm to check it out.
Kratos met up with us at the pre-arranged rendezvous and we headed to the buffet. When we arrived there were quite a few people there and I immediately noted the spread in the middle. There was curry with rice, pasta, vegetable dishes, fried foods etc. It was nice to have that all you can eat feeling as thai portions can at times be very underwhelming. I managed to get through seven small plates worth, which I took as quite an accomplishment! Laura and Kratos managed one and a half. We all enjoyed the food but felt pretty exhausted afterwards. We decided to head back and get some much needed rest.
