Today we slept in quite late so didn't leave the hotel till about ten thirty am. Steven was munching noodles and I drank my gorgeous fresh veg and fruit juice. We caught a songthaew to AoNang where we actually got off in the resort... By now it was already about thirty three degrees. We wandered down the beach desperately seeking a spot in the shade but it appeared everyone else had a the same idea, however towards the end of the beach it appeared a little quieter.... We then found out that towards the end of the beach is a small temple that is surrounded by monkeys and that was probably while it was a bit quieter as these little cheeky things love to grab your stuff.
We settled a little way from the monkeys near a beach bar... Half in the shade and laid down our towels. By now I was sweating like a good un and ran straight for the sea, it was amazing and so refreshing! The view from this end of the beach is amazing and I lay contented in the surf for a good while. Steven was engrossed in his book but I soon wandered back to join him but before long the lure of the sea was calling again and back I went. This ritual went on for a good hour or so and it was probably the longest we have spent sunbathing on a beach.
Soon Stevens tummy was calling and so we headed down the front. For some reason for the past couple of weeks we have had a massive craving for pizza but haven't succumbed due to western food being so expensive here. However we found a small Italian place right on the front offered half price pizzas and reduced beer... We wandered in. It was lovely just sitting and enjoying the sound of the sea while sipping a beer and the pizza was delicious. It also had free wifi so we checked out hotels and things and were still undecided. I was pulling towards Koh Samui or Phuket and Steven thought Phuket and then Koh Lanta on the way to Maylasia.
We finished our pizza and went for a stroll around AoNang... I really needed some trousers or something as my skirt and three quarter lengths were too big but didn't get anywhere fast. The guys in the shops were asking seven hundred and fifty baht for a pair of trousers not even worth two hundred... seven hundred and fifty baht is about sixteen quid. I just laughed then they say how much you want to pay but they won't go less than six hundred... Rip off! I gave up as I was getting too annoyed and bothered. There will be some cheaper... We strolled around in the heat before heading to Burger King for another yummy milk shake. Today I chose strawberry and watched in delight as she simply added strawberries, milk and ice cream before whizzing it... No vile fake flavouring here. Steven had vanilla, which was also yummy. We then sat on the sea front and sipped our shakes while watching the boats come and go. Also made a little video for everyone back home.
After a while we thought we would head back to the hotel for a cold shower and that we did.... it was amazing. It was nearing six o'clock so we decided to get the hotels and such sorted. We settled on Phuket and planned a bit around it. We also decided to do an islands tour tomorrow so booked that with the hotel. By now it was about nine pm so we headed for food... Most places were shut and only open for drinks so we hit the seven eleven for noodles and Crisp sandwiches... Yummy!! Then it was bedtime.
