I arranged to spend Saturday night with a mate from Hampi in Bangalore and make the most of the city night life.

We spent the morning in the IT central of India looking for an Internet café with skype facilities, and failed, so went for something to eat instead! I'm enjoying the south indian food! The masala dosas melt in your mouth!

Deciding to save money on alcoholic drinks at bars, we bought are own to mix into the cheap cokes. Having had our wrists slapped at a bowling alley we moved onto the so called clubs… What a disappointment… We ended up ending the night eating a Subway sandwich at this plush shopping arcade (there was a club there but was going to close soon, the night ends at 11.30!!!)

Check out was early, and was made worse when I discovered a rat in my bag! I didn't have time to examine the damage as the guy at the lodge was getting shirty with us, as we had exceeded our check out time by 5 minutes.

The aim was to get to Mysore for the illumination of the palace…
