Helen's Elective
Hi
Just thought i would fill you in with the rest of the weekends entertainment.
On sunday i was able to have a nice leisurly, sorry can't spell, wake up. This made a good change to my 8am starts in the hospital every morning. I then made my way down to Bintang, where I stayed when I first avived. I spent most of the day pottering round the area and looking in the crazy shopping malls. Before I came the first thing people always sais to me was "so you will be doing lots of shopping then." I just though they were a bit boring and going shopping on their holidays but you really can't escape from it in KL. I can see why people come here for it you can get just about anything. I didn't buy anything, due to a combination of being poor and the thought of having to carrying it around for another two months, but it was interesting to see what was on offer.
After escaping form the shopping centre, i got lost several times, i particiapted in the art of people watching over a glass of ice tea, coffee is very expensive over here. Some may think it is a boring waste of time but I think watching how people carry themselves interesting. Plus it provided the ideal oppotunity to hide from the heat.
The rest of the afternoon was used wandering round the area and realising how much i hadn't noticed the first time befor finding a very nice curry house for my tea.
I also think i may have made the taxi drivers day on the way back. He kept asking lots of medical quesions, and was very knowlagable on the subject, it turned out is daughter graduated from the hospital. And never in 17 years of being a taxi driver had he met a British medical student, he seened very chuffed.
Sorry for the rubbihshness of all these journal entries. I feel stupid writhing them and they probably sound silly to you too.
