Started the day with our secret breakfast then headed downtown on the subway. Really enjoyed wandering around the streets suddenly getting a glimpse of the empire state or Rockefeller centre. The new one world trade centre is an impressive site. I thought the ground zero memorials were well done. There are two fountains covering the exact footprint of each tower with the names of all those who died. We went in the 9/11 museum which was heartbreaking. We were so immersed we were there 4 hours! We then walked down Wall St and across the Brooklyn Bridge to watch the sun set on the city. A great first day in this fantastic city but I am exhausted.
