Lovely final day strolling around Central Park. A beautiful, peaceful space in this crazy city. It is huge, over 800 acres! We are now awaiting our flight home. In a great end to a great trip we have been given a lounge with unlimited beer, wine snacks and JD. If we don't make it back you will know why!

Fantastic day. Caught the ferry across to liberty island and it was amazing to see the statue up close. The museum was very good explaining how she was constructed. We then went to Ellis Island. It was here that all immigrants had to pass through on arriving in New York. We stood in the hall and imagined my two great uncles probably came here after their voyage. Today we did a big bus tour to rest our legs and get a feel for the city. We had a really great guide and saw a lot. We went to the 'top of the rock' and had great views over the city north and south. We then walked around fifth, Broadway and times square which was amazing. Started the day with our secret breakfast then headed downtown on the subway. Really enjoyed wandering around the streets suddenly getting a glimpse of the empire state or Rockefeller centre. The new one world trade centre is an impressive site. I thought the ground zero memorials were well done. Today we drove from Boston to New York City. We said goodbye to the car after 5,000 miles. We have an amazing room in a big town house (photo) with a nice big bath, high ceilings and beautiful wood flooring. Interestingly breakfast is included although not advertised because of the strict laws here, there are no official B&Bs in NY apparently. Can't wait to explore tomorrow.
