Wonderful day in Vegas chilling out by the pool with cocktails. It is so hot! The pool and surrounding area are covered in sand just like the beach. We then met Polly (crazy world!) for dinner and cocktails at the Hard Rock Cafe, it was lovely and bizarre that we could meet in Vegas. Road trip! We headed from Santa Monica on historic route 66. A great drive along Santa Monica Blvd through La onto Sunset and then to Pasadena. We followed the historic route through to San Bernardino where we visited the first McDonalds Bbq Restaurant opened by d*** and Mac McDonald in 1940 which is now a museum.
