After another amazing nights sleep it was time to leave The Big Texan and we drove out from Amarillo to El Reno in Oklahoma. We were not sure where to stop for our picnic but saw the sign (photo) and figured that must be the place. We have driven through some lovely small towns today and El Reno is no exception. El Reno is also known as hamburger city, home of the onion-fried burger, and we have just enjoyed amazing burgers from Jobe's Drive-in (another good find from the Roadfood book!). This is an old style drive-in on Route 66. We are just passing through Oklahoma on our way east, when asked where we were going after Texas some Texans asked us 'well what d ya think your going to do there?'
