Road trip! We headed from Santa Monica on historic route 66. A great drive along Santa Monica Blvd through La onto Sunset and then to Pasadena. We followed the historic route through to San Bernardino where we visited the first McDonalds Bbq Restaurant opened by d*** and Mac McDonald in 1940 which is now a museum. Fancying a burger after we had our first In-n-Out and were impressed. We then took the freeway to Vegas. The scenery was spectacular as we drove through the mountains to the desert. Our hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is amazing and huge. We have two double beds and two flat screens tvs as well as a corner sofa. After dinner we sat at the bar until we worked up the courage to join a roulette table. Great fun! Another world!

Eloise If I've got it right as I write you'll be sleeping and when you wake up in 8 hours it's your Birthday! So Happy Birthday!!!! Have an amazing day in the Sun exploring and enjoy a Las Vegas cocktail for me later......or now.. It is your Birthday! Wow everything in America seems so huge!
