Had an absolute mare of a first day.... Flights were all okay, sat next to friendly people, food was good and managed to sleep. It all went wrong when I landed in Dar es Salaam at 9:30 and couldn't find my bags!

Turns out both of them got lost in transit. My plan of splitting my stuff in half between the two bags back fired when i lost both of my bags didn't it. Not such a genius idea.

I got told to return to the airport at 14:30 to pick up my bags that will be coming in on the next KLM flight. 14:30 came and went, they rang at 17:00 to say m bags were ready for collection. This meant that our trip to Zanzibar is now delayed until tomorrow as the last ferry was at 16:00. Had to change all of our reservations and missing out on a party!

I have just arrived at the airport, only one of my bags is here and the other is still missing. Apparently it will be arriving on the next KLM flight which lands at 21:30. Its only 18:30 so I am not waiting around for it. I shall returning tomorrow morning in hope that it has arrived!

The day has been so long, waiting around, as we couldnt do aanything incase my luggage arrived. Tonight we are just going to sit in some heavy traffic home, get showered and have a few chilled drinks at a local bar. Hopefully tomorrow will run more smoothly and we will actually get to Zanzibar.

However, despite my mass of moaning, it has been lovely to see and catch up with Arnold and Rich. It's like I only saw them yesterday! Rich and I worked out that we haven't seen Arnold in nearly 10 years! Such a long time, but it doesn't feel like it, which is of course a good thing.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous! It has been 30℃ with a slight breeze, almost perfect temperature for me. Not bad for winter weather!

Just about to tuck in to some food before heading back home from the airport.
