Started out early and with the rain over the last three days and any lack of clean clothes decided to take the less dangerous low path . Which still meant traversing a major landslide that had taken out the road.after a couple hours of walking in the rain decided to stay at the local village for the night and found a guesthouse with amazing views , cold beer and good food. Guesthouse is amazing with the gorge towering above you and the wood burning stove and the happy tea!! ( which is strong and helps with the appetite cant stop eating) Is very good for relaxing you after a days walking and the happy pizza is pretty good to..Woke up with a fuzzy head and put on my soaking wet hiking boots to descend the small slippery path to the bottom of the gorge.after 45 mins hiking through a mix of jungle and corn fields we figure we're lost so decide to retrace our steps when we come across the right path that takes us down in to the mouth of the gorge and along cliffs with narrow paths carved out 100 foot above the raging river and after about 30 min the sun came out which made the scenery even more stunning.after about an hour we reach the bottom and I get to climb across the raging waters to the stone in the middle then it's a hour and a half climb 1000ft back to the top which includes a sky ladder bolted to the cliff face about 100ft long and 500ft up which gave amazing views then the last 500ft nearly killed me ,defiantly not as fit as I was in Japan all the cheap fags and beer is to blame.so I grabbed some food and a bus to lijang moving further south only 6 days left in china and I need to get closer to kunming for my flight.
