JJ started our day at 06:30am by being full of life and his happy little self. He chilled with me for a while. He watched the under the sea, Hey Bear sensory video on you tube. After a jamon a queso toastie for breakfast. I wanted to get straight out into the sun. Becky made the point that it was barley light outside. Soon it was light enough for two sun loungers to be in the sun. Close to where we were on the first day.
With JJ awake in his Pram I stood and chatted to him while Becky got her morning swim in. She was the only one in the pool, which she quite enjoyed.
Due the prevalence of flies that started bothering us we went back to the room to discover the 30minute part of the day the balcony is in the sun. I watched JJ allowing Becky a rare moment in the sun!
Today we had arranged to go to Ciutadella with Janet and David. Who very kindly came to collect us. They had even secured a car seat from their car hire company. While trying to install the car seat and get JJ in the car. Some man kept getting in our way following a butterfly. Much to his wife’s chagrin. Janet was David’s navigator. Their system was fool proof and avoided conflict. Direction and then exit number. Works every time, except when the information is contradictory! We were very grateful for the lift and David’s careful driving with JJ in the car.
We had a look around their hotel which had a nautical theme set around a main pool with a sun terrace. Their suite was very nice with a free standing bath.
We walked along the coast to Ciutadella
Marina. In the distance we could see Majorca. The ferry was in port ready to take people across the short crossing. The boats in the harbour were very impressive, especially one called Jimmy. We walked the pier to the restaurants overlooking the marina. We found one that had been recommended to them. There was a perfect table overlooking the water. I opted for the John Dory with a nice glass of white wine. Becky had the entrecôte. JJ had a nap. At the end of the meal I noticed the sun had snuck under the umbrella and I was getting burnt on my right arm. JJ awoke and joined us at the table for a look around. After lunch Janet took us on a walking tour the town, which ended with some excellent ice cream by the cathedral.
Earlier in the day they had kindly checked to see if we could use their hotels pool. However as JJ has been outside for sometime and also in need of a feed and a nappy change they dropped us back off at our apartment.
I went to one of the hotel pools across the road in T bloc. Becky had been reluctant to use this pool as it’s overlooked by rooms and she was concerned with JJ disturbing people. As the pool was quiet I persuaded her to use it. JJ was in a great mood and we chatted away, while Becky went for an evening swim.
Dinner tonight was sausage pasta, with sweetcorn. After which JJ had his bath and final feed. Not wanting to waste food I finished off the baguette and pate as we watched TV.
It was BBQ night in the main restaurant tonight. With offers of 50% off Sangria and 241 spirits and a mixer. I think our family evening was more enjoyable than their offer.
Beckys final thought: find magic in the simplest of moments
