It seemed like a lie in this morning as the sun was up. Only just though. The main feature of the local area was our first port of call this morning. Cala’n Forcat is a quiet cove great for snorkelling. Not that we would be doing that today, of course. We followed google maps and were disappointed to find we needed to carry the pram down a number of stairs to a rocky beach with a little bit of a view. Still we were committed. Back up the steps, I suggested going down a path to see what was there. Too tired to argue Becky agreed. This path led to a few steps that took us further along the cove closer to the sea. Here we were able to get good photos and see into the peaceful water below.
With the sun higher in the sky, we had to navigate JJ backwards in the pram on the return walk.
We moved to the other side of the main pool upon our return and it was a lot cooler. JJ was shielded by accommodation and a large pillar. Becky went back to the room and moments later he awoke wanting a feed. Later when I left for a walk he awoke wanting more of the same. A valuable lesson was learnt, stick together with the young lad. No one wants to be alone with a crying baby poolside.
For ease we opted for lunch in the main restaurant. We arrived at 12:55 and our meal did not arrive until 13:40. Several people were served who had arrived after us. Sensing we were less than pleased, the waitress sorted double portions with the chef. For €7 a meal I was happy with my grilled hake and Becky with her pork chops. I was even happier with a complimentary glass of white wine. JJ waited until we had asked for the bill before waking up.
I enjoyed a spot of sun out the back of the apartment. We chatted to a couple from Kent who had arrived today in the next apartment.
Becky then suggested the snack bar for a drink so we didn’t have to change. However I feel it was also a ploy to stop me chatting away.
I tried to lie out in the sun out the front of the apartment but got bitten a lot on the grass, and quickly gave up.
We had to use the kettle to top up JJ’s bath as it had clouded over, lots of people had decided to get changed at that point.
Becky made egg fried rice with bratwurst, cucumber and tomatoes for dinner.
JJ drifted off to sleep early, which allowed Becky to have a hot bath as the blocks tank was back up to full temperature.
We watched various game shows on terrestrial, accompanied by baguette and pate.
The inevitable happened with JJ drifting off early, we were woken after only an hours sleep. He did settle for the rest of the night. I on the other hand was freezing with the air conditioning on, and had to search out a duvet in the middle of the night.
