Waiting for the man to come check out the airconditioner – are we going today or will be here another? To stay another day – by the time we would have been packed up we would have been not so well prepared for our 1st day on the Gibb. Late leaving in this hot weather doesn't seem like such a good idea to me so we will just have to bear it here in Derby another day. Gave us a chance to clean the car out a bit, make some adjustments to how it all goes & get the things we still needed.

We also went to see the huge Boab Prison tree just out of Derby. Not the nicest history – as the white folks used to steal aboriginal young men to go to work on the boats or in the mines for them – they’d walk them in chains for 40-60km a day and then tie them up here at this tree (Boab’s are hollow inside) for a break and then get them up to the coast the next day – not too cool at all!

Sach got a couple of things sorted out for the trailer & we went back to the camp to pack up.

Sach took Tenille down to the jetty to try get some mud crabs for an hour or so & Jaz had a very long sleep while I got myself a bit more organised, cleaned up etc.

No crabs on return – so spag bol for dinner. Early to bed – off on another great & pretty isolated adventure tomorrow – The Gibb – here we come…
