Visited 'Dreamland' Theme Park on Monday. It had been built up to be amazing, but it didn't live up to all the hype.. still had lots of fun though! The rides and water slides wern't as 'white knuckle' as I had hoped. One particular ride did do the job though.. The Giant Drop!! Sat in a row of 8 people, you are slowly raised vertically 120 metres up in the air and left there for about a minute so you can admire the amazing views over Surfers Paradise and the countryside.. but to be honest that's the last thing on your mind as you wait in anticipation with your heart in your mouth for the huge plunge your about to take back to where you started from. Not knowing when it's going to drop adds to the build of anticipation.. and when it comes..... WOOOOAAAAAHHH!!! 5 seconds of pure adrenalin rush.. unbelievable feeling!! With about 20 metres of track remaining the ride suddenly hits the breaks to an almost immediate stop back to where it started.. walked off with jelly legs. Great fun!! :)
Saw some Bengal Tigers performing for the crowds too.. massive powerful animals!!
...........grabbed some more pic 'n' mix on the walk back to the hostel again!! It's my weakness, what can I say. Arrgghh!!
Headed down to Pacific Fair on Tuesday for some retail therapy.. a massive shopping mall only 15 minutes drive on a bus from Surfers. The shopping isn't as good as the big cities but still worth a trip.. came away with some new shorts and accessories.
Made a lush Thai red curry for dinner then decided to head back to Pacific Fair to watch a film at the cinema. We watched 127 Hours which was really good and yep, you guessed it.. more pic 'n' mix... think I may have a problem!! Haha
Had a morning/afternoon on Surfers beach yesterday chilling out and playing football, then out in the evening with the boys to Beer Garden for a few jugs.
Took a coach trip out to The Hinterlands National Park today visiting numerous waterfalls and picturesque viewpoints along the way. Being 1000 metres above sea level some of the views were restricted due to the cloud cover above the mountains so that was a bit of a bummer.
Stopped off for some lunch at a nice manor house hotel up in the hills and had a mini adventure in a maze in the hotel grounds :)
Going to go for another run on the beach shortly and then maybe get some dinner at a nice restaurant later tonight.
Booked my ticket for the Good Vibrations Festival on the Gold Coast this Saturday. Acts include Faithless, Sasha, Kelis... and many more. Can't wait!!!!!!!! :)
