Woke up Monday morning still very much feeling the effects from the previous night. We checked out the hostel at 10am, grabbed some breakfast and caught the bus for Noosa at 11am. The 3 hour bus journey wasn't great with the way we were feeling but managed to get a little bit of extra sleep. The bus stopped on the way for 5 minutes at the Glass Mountains viewpoint for a photo opportunity.. think I would have appreciated them a little more had I not been hungover.
We arrived in Noosa and it was exactly as I expected.. but a little nicer. It's a small, very chilled out beach town where the Oz's like to visit for their holidays. The road adjacent to the lush beach is lined with nice restaurants and shops.
We didn't really do much on the first night as we were pretty tired from the night before so we just bought some food and crashed in the hostel room.
After a good sleep we were recharged and headed down to the beach after some breakfast. It was initially quite warm with clear blue skies and we managed to catch a few rays but it clouded over a little during the afternoon and became cooler.
We got back to the hostel and cooked a curry for tea before having a few beers with our new roommates in the hostel bar and then onto another bar just a short walk down the road. It wasn't a mad night or anything.. we were back just after midnight.
Checked out of the hostel this morning and left our bags in storage as our bus from the Transit Center wasn't until 3.30pm.
We decided to go for a coastal walk in Noosa's National Park where we were told to look out for koala's but we didn't see any.. the coast was very picturesque though.
Headed back toward the beach after that and grabbed some lunch from a steak house before walking up the steep hill to collect our bags.
Just waiting for the bus now to make our move up to Rainbow Beach.. a 2 hour journey. Then it's Fraser Island on Friday.. very much looking forward to that! :)
Over and out!
