JOB DONE!!!!!!!!!! :)))))))))))
Had a very short day at work on Monday.. worked for just under two hours before the heavens opened so we were sent back to the hostel. We were back before 10am so it gave me the chance to sort a few things out before Friday and I was also able to get in a really good gym session during the afternoon.
The weather was cold with patchy downpours on Tuesday but we still managed to work till 3.30pm. Didn't go to the gym as I needed to get my laundry done so I headed down to the laundrette and treated myself to an Eagle Boys pizza whilst I waited.. cheap Tuesday pizza deal!
Wednesday was a very cold day at work, possibly the coldest since I've been here. It was so cold and miserable that we were sent home at 1pm and it gave me the chance to have one last gym session.. which I did. Will definitely miss it when I leave! Began to pack my clothes when I got back to the hostel aswell.
Thursday was my 88th and final day on Barbera Farm.. and it was glorious weather with the sun out all day. My last role on the farm was cutting broken stakes into pieces with a circular saw.. I was covered in saw-dust by the time I finished at 5pm but I didn't mind.. I had finally done it, I reached the end!! An unbelieveable feeling :)
I said my goodbyes to the farmers and the group of people I had been working with for the past three months and headed back to the hostel to get ready to meet everyone at the pub for our last night in Stanthorpe. I was the last to arrive and a huge feeling of elation came over me when I saw everyone. It was nice to have my first beer in three weeks and we had a great night.. including a mad funny game of tig on the way home!! :)
On the Monday morning after this weekend in Brisbane.. Rich, Leighton, Ricky and myself will be jumping on a bus up to Noosa Heads for two nights.. a nice relaxed beach town which will be great after these past three months of hard graft. Then on the Wednesday we move further up the coast to Rainbow Beach where we will stay for two nights before leaving for Fraser Island on the Friday.. a three day self-drive safari in a 4x4 around the island whilst camping on the beach for two nights. Then it's back down to Rainbow Beach for another night.
Anyway, my time here is up.. no more days to count down.. can't believe I've done it!!
Bye Bye Stanthorpe.. I'm outta here forever! It's been a very interesting experience.. one which I will never forget.
Brisbane and east coast here I come!! :)
