Arrived in Stanthorpe just before 1pm on Saturday after meeting two lads from the UK on the bus who were heading there for the same reason as I was.. and it turns out they had done the Ozintro week just a few weeks after I had finished mine.. so we had plenty to talk about.
Checked in at the Backpackers of Queensland working hostel where we were placed in a room with three other girls from the UK. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and everyone is really sound so I settled in nicely.
Went to buy my groceries from the local Woolworths then headed out for a run to explore the town. There are plenty of different routes to go running so I had a good look around. Not alot to do here.. there's a couple of cheap bars, plenty of bottle shops, all the necessary banks, a few Chinese restaurants/takeaways, an internet cafe, a swimming pool and park.. enough to keep me going for a while I guess.
Just chilled at night watching films with the rest of my roommates as I was pretty tired from the bus journey and my run earlier on.

Everyone in the hostel has the day off on Sunday so it's going to be a chilled one. The Internet cafe is closed on Sundays so I've had to walk about half an hour to a McDonalds Drive Thru/Cafe to use the free wifi.. that's where I'm sat right now as I type this blog. A stray dog followed me all the way here too!! Hope it's gone by the time I've finished.

Work starts tomorrow.. at 5am!!! My hours will be something like this.. Monday to Friday 5am - 2pm and Saturday 5am - 11am with Sundays off. I'm sure I will get use to it.. and the pay rates are pretty good too. Just looking forward to getting started and putting in some hard graft.. let's see how I do!!

Haven't dropped the Grand Prix bombshell on the employer yet.. think I will wait a few weeks until I get on his good side ;)

Half an hour walk back now with my iPod and a stray dog :)
