Having seen a herd of elk in our front garden this morning we set out to Hoh Rainforest where they get 147" of rain per year but today it was sun and blue sky! We had a wander around one of the trails and saw deer, a Hairy Woodpecker and a Gray Jay.
Our next stop was Ruby Beach, a beautiful unspoilt beach with plenty of driftwood where a Bald Eagle just sat above us watching the people strolling along the sands. Nick and Imogen thought it would be funny to watch and film whilst I bum shuffled across three fallen trees to reach the other side of the stream (sorry guys, no £250 coming your way this time!)
Further south we headed into our second Rainforest of the day, Quinalt. Here stands the world's tallest Sitka Spruce which is over 100 years old.
Imogen has been trying her surfing skills out on a lake (!) and the view from our balcony is just stunning - hopefully the sunset will be good one.
