Due to paper thin cabin walls, I decide to sneak out at 5am to watch the sunrise over the canyon. My decision paid off as not only did I watch a beautiful sunrise, I watched a huge male elk grazing by the pathway.
We set off early en route to Kingman. Stopping first in Williams we had a little wander around in this old town.
En route to Seligman we saw our first Los Angeles sign which made us all quite sad and realise that we don't actually want to go there because that means the end of this wonderful trip.
Seligman was superb and only four weeks ago Billy Connolly had been filming there for his Route 66 series which airs on ITV in September (I think we'll be watching that one as Imogen sat in the sane chair as him in the barber shop)
Seligman Sno Cap was very quirky with handles on the wrong side of doors and the hatch server playing random tricks on customers. We enjoy fries at the road side.
Hackberry General Store is another famous Route 66 stop and again, very quirky. A quick look around here and we were on our way to Kingman where we enjoyed lunch at Mr D's Diner.
Long journey tomorrow but mostly freeway so it shouldn't take too long...
