I went to Brunswick street before when I was searching for more desirable hostels but found out after ages of looking there werent any! But that day I found a Latin American fiesta going on in one of the streets - was really good, a whole street was closed off and there were really good food and other stalls all along it, and people dancing and playing really good music, stayed there for quite a while! There is loads of cool stuff coming up especially in the kids...

Anyway, as I had said in a previous postcard, my first Melbourne hostel really wasn't good so I went to another one called 'Bev and Micks' which is basically a pub with a backpackers kitchen attached and some dorms and showers etc. upstairs! I had my interview at the recruitment agency after doing my last journal update and it took much longer than I thought so didn't get a chance to come back to the net place! The interview was much more proper than I thought it would be - they asked me questions like - what would you do if a child fell from a climbing frame, and what would be the main hazards you would look for a try and prevent in a child care centre, and what toys to toddlers play with, and loads...

Hello again everyone! I can't believe I haven't done a journal for over 2 weeks! Lots to update on (as ever) but nothing as exciting as Tassie or New Zealand or Thailand or anything! I ended up staying the rest of the week in that hostel, which really wasn't that great, even in the girls dorm, as they weren't all that friendly and stayed up late with the lights on, and it turned out that the bar was very close to the room and really noisy, so I slept every night ...
