Monday 12th we arose, got refreshed, had breakfast then headed off to the seal colony on the peninsula. When we arrived at Seal Point we had a small walk to a viewing platform and got some stunning sights, but couldn't see any seals so soon were back in the car heading towards Dunedin Town. We parked up and had a wander around picking up some woolly hats, scarves, gloves and jumpers all for $16.50 (about £8.50) before we got on our way.
After half an hour we got to a place by the sea called Tunnel Beach, where we had a nice walk down from the car park towards the beach, near the end we got to a nice view of a Bridge Rock out at sea. We then turned around and saw a cool tunnel with steps through leading down to the beach. When we got onto the beach there were some stunning rock formations and a couple of waterfalls coming off the cliff face and flowing out to sea along the beach. We walked around the beach for a bit then were about to head back up when I noticed the sun had shifted into a perfect position for some cool photo's behind a rock formation with a crack in it. So we spent a little while experimenting with the camera before heading back up through the tunnel and up the cliff to the car. We finally reached the car puffing and panting and got back on the road.
After a while we stopped off at a couple more little towns and Rachel picked up a pink sky jacket for $8 (about £4.20) so at least she should be nice and warm now. We then continued on our way towards Te Anau. When we arrived we had a quick drive around the town stopping at the tourist information centre to find out about tours before finding a campsite by the lake. We pitched the car then walked to the lake and watched the sun set behind the mountains. We then cooked up grub and sat in the lounge area looking through our exciting leaflets for the evening.
