Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
I am combining these days as we didn't do much other than mooching around. It poured with rain most of Thursday. Friday we caught up with shopping, laundry & cooking. Saturday I spent the morning at the hairdressers then in the afternoon we went for a walk along the Beach. In the evening we Skyped the family. Little Zachary Luke was one month old today, Sacha is still absolutely besotted with him, & making the most of it as the new little family are moving in to their own place at the end of the month. Sunday we did last minute laundry and started packing ready for our New Zealand trip. The weather has been unseasonably cool & we have heard that it is positively cold in N Z so I will have to purchase a wooly of some sort when I get there!
On Monday we drove down to Loganholme just south of Brisbane to stay with Jenny & Scott for the night. I woke at dawn to a fabulous cacophony of bird song. The Lorikeets, brightly coloured birds midway in size between a budgie & a cockatoo fly in quite large flocks & were chirruping away accompanied by the harsh squawking of the cockatoo, there was the melodious warbling of the magpies (anyone who has watched the Australian Soaps will have heard this) all of this was backed by small song bird cheeping and the distant sounds of crows cawing. After breakfast Jenny braved the rush hour traffic to take us to the airport for our flight to Auckland New Zealand.
