It's Australia Day. We got up late as at 5.30am it was persisting it down so Spencer also went back to bed.
We had a fantastic dinner last night at Grennys at Tewantin (Noosa area) Peter and I had Morton Bay Bugs wrapped in filo pastry and were to die for. Sallie had Nasi Goreng, her favourite. Whilst on the grub subject I need to mention …
Three years on and we are back on the road again. I left for Australia first to spend time with my sister. Peter drove me to Keighley Station where I caught the train for Leeds and the Kings Cross train. I arrived at Kings Cross and got a black cab to the Heathrow Hotel. Cost me £80 including the tip. Hotel nice and had lamb for dinner that was to die for. Got up early and caught the shuttle bus to the terminal costing £4.50. A taxi would have cost £12.00. At the Terminal I went…

Hotel nice and had lamb for dinner that was to die for. Got up early and caught the shuttle bus to the terminal costing £4.50. A taxi would have cost £12.00. At the Terminal I went through security etc. Then walked for at least 20 minutes to the Kris Lounge near the departure gate!
The flight in business class was uneventful but the so called bed was not at all comfortable so I only managed to cat nap.
Arrived at Singapore on time and walked, gratefully stretching my limbs, to the Kris Lounge. They had a curved screen TV that I was surprised to find I could view the whole screen from a side angle. Walked for half an hour to the gate. The flight was again uneventful but the business class seats were far more comfortable and I managed to sleep for a couple of hours.
Arrived at Brisbane half an hour ahead of schedule. Case was second one off
the belt. Immigration was quick and I was met by Sallie and Jenny.
We got Sallie's car and drove to a petrol station outside the airport where Jenny had left her car. We had a quick cup of tea, said goodbye to Jenny who drove south to Logan and Sallie and I drove north on Bruce Highway etc. To Peregian Springs and a shower and bed. It was now about 11.00pm on the 7th. A long journey.
