Up and running again at last. In case you didn't get the email we sent, Apple did a big update to its system and messed up the offexploring site. It has taken 2 weeks to get a 'fix' done by which time we had reached Australia so I am afraid that although the photo is of San Francisco the location bit can't be altered back to the US.
Monday Sept 23rd. We went on the ferry from Larkspur to San Francisco which took around half an hour. This meant we didn't have to worry about parking the car in the city. A lot of people have the same idea which made parking in Larkspur quite a challenge! Guy had never been on the ferry in all the 20 odd years he has lived in the area. Donna having lived most her life in California had so was the instigator of the trip. A good call as we all enjoyed our 'sea' journey.
We started off walking towards Fisherman's Wharf but realised it was a lot further than we thought so we jumped on a bus and got shouted at as we didn't have the right change. We wandered about looking but there wasn't a lot going on as it was almost the end of the tourist season, but we did see quite a few musicians playing all types of music from Jazz to The Eagles (Hotel California of course). We decided that some sort of fish lunch was a good idea so found a nice Restaurant overlooking some boats & one Pelican. It was a rather disappointing indifferent meal but the surroundings service were OK
We started to wander back towards the ferry and got a Cab with a Cabbie who Donna thinks was a bit high on something as he didn't stop talking all the way back. We caught the Ferry back although the fog had crept up so we didn't manage to see the Golden Gate Bridge & take a picture as I had hoped. Fortunately by the time we got back to Larkspur the fog had decided to stay mid channel so we had an uneventful trip home.
