Well, today is our last day at the resort, so we thought we would take it slowly and relax. We would have to leave early the next morning, so had to have some plans. We had thought of checking out Burnie and Stanley while we were here, but thought they were too far to go and come back in a day, so decided we would head off tomorrow to see Burnie, spend the night, then go on to Stanley the next day.
So today we packed our bags and packed the van. We tried to do some surfing as the resort provided free wifi. We hadn't been on the internet for ages, not broadcasting our blog regularly as before, so we thought this would be a good chance to catch up on all we had missed on Facebook etc.
Well, the advertised free wifi was woeful. You could only connect to it in one particular spot, at a particular time, and if you moved or sneezed you lost it. Even then it was slow and miserable. The wifi from Target we had had on our previous travels was light years ahead.
So spent the day relaxing around the pool, and experimenting with some cooking using devices in the unit. We were planning to spend the next week free-camping as much as possible, so we made the most of the power while we had it.
Then of course, we had to fill out the requisite questionnaire about our stay in the unit. Although it had generally been quite pleasant, we made sure to mention the dodgy wifi. And of course the fridge - which froze our water bottle on the lower shelf, and turned our ice cream into soup in the freezer. The little gas powered fridge in the van works a treat in comparison.
