For those of you who have been following our adventures, you will know that we began three years ago with the plan to undertake to follow Highway One all the way around Australia. We spent five months in 2014 travelling anti-clockwise around this great land, and were absolutely blown away by the amazing diversity and variety - from lush green forests and meandering rivers streaming out to the sea all the way up the east coast, to the vast, open, arid, red spaces...

The Last Leg Heading south from Port Augusta towards Adelaide, we stopped at a small town called Port Germein. This had also entered the annals of Youssef family tradition on our previous trip. It is a very small town with two or three streets, a caravan park, a pub, a general store, and a very long jetty. On our last trip, in January, it was crabbing season. Last week we decided to go on a “trial run” to ensure that all our equipment is working and we haven’t forgotten anything critical, before we embark on the real thing. Also, as many of you know, our son Daniel had had a bit of an altercation with a car, and, obviously, the car won. He ended up with a broken leg, and in a brace and on crutches for 6 weeks.
