Our accomodation in Sorrento was a bit of a change from the normal hostel as we were on a campsite in our own cabin, with a swimming pool and private beach to use. We relaxed on the first afternoon by the pool in the sun and wandered around the campsite which had lovely views over the bay.
We woke early the next day to make the most of the sunny weather and head to Positano. Unfortunately the bus system in Italy isn't particularly reliable so we took a while to get into town to catch the bus to Positano. Once we'd got on the crammed bus (well more like a coach) it was lots of winding roads for 45 minutes to get there, which didn't make me feel too great! Luckily we'd got talking to a nice English couple who offered me a seat so I felt better by the time we arrived. We walked down to the beach which was really picturesque with colourful houses stacked on top of each other up the cliff side. It was nice to sit on the beach and relax as well as cooling off in the sea. After a nice day in Positano we caught the (less busy) bus back about 6 o'clock stopping for dinner in Sorrento before heading back to our cabin.
The weather was a little cooler the next day so we decided to have a bit of a lie in before going into Sorrento to explore and get lunch. Not sure if I'm getting more or less patient with all the waiting for buses, was an hour this time, even though they were supposed to be every 20 minutes! Luckily we weren't in any rush! We wandered around the streets and took in the views over the bay overlooking the private beaches. For dinner we got some things from the supermarket and went back to our campsite to sit in the evening sun.
Having checked out in the morning we made our way to Naples in order to get the train to Anzio, our next destination.
