We had a choice of 3 beaches in Phuket - Patong (very busy, very lively), Kata (more chilled out but for a younger crowd) & Karon (quiet & chilled out). We chose Karon, again we struggled to find place to stay & after over an hour of looking we found a place that was 16 pounds a night for a room with a double bed. It was a really nice room & we were so tired of looking & couldn't find anything else anyway so we took it & were back to 3 in a bed again!

Karon was a very strange place, full of 40-80 year olds with ET tans. Absolutely full of white people, not very cultural but at least there was sun & the sea was clear & nice to swim in. Some of the bars were a bit dodgy but the restaurants down the front of the beach were really nice. We headed to Patong for Helens last night out, the club was funkily designed but they played music which wasn't really our bag, so we didn't stay all that long, at least we got a burger king in Patong!

We hope you enjoyed your stay Helen, even though you had to share rooms & beds with us most of the time & that we were always running around trying to find a room & it was raining for half of it! Definately one to remember though!! Xx
