The beds at the Mercure Hotel were really nice, and I didn't even wake up until 11 o'clock. Not wanting to waste any time, that I could be sunbathing, I showered and headed to the pool. There was bright blue sky, it was so hot. I found a sun bed, and just laid there for 30 minutes sweating. I Then put on my suntan oil, and started to read my book. Aaron arrived at the pool about 12 o'clock. We both hadn't eaten any breakfast, but wasn't really hungry. We were around the pool for about 3 hours, and then took a walk as we needed to book the Phi Phi trip that we wanted to do tomorrow, as it was the only other full day we have in Phuket. We headed to the old girl that I booked Richard, Laura and My last tour with, as she was offering the best price. Aaron was interested in seeing the Fantasy show that was on that night. We walked up to the shopping centre, and had an ice cream. We walked down to Patong Beach via the tour agent again to book the fancy show tonight, which included a buffet dinner. If we hadn't had gone to the beach now, Aaron wouldn't have got chance to see it. The waves were quite big today and there was a few people in the sea. I didn't really fancy it so we just walked along the sand for a bit. I had to get Aaron a nutella and banana pancake as they are so fit. I think he liked it - as he had chocolate all around his face like a kid. We didn't have that long back at the hotel before we got picked up for the show. Just enough time to have another quick swim. It was happy hour when we got back to the hotel, so had a beer before showering. Then waited at reception for our pick up.
The transfer only took about 20 minutes before we arrived at the Fantasy resort. It was a bit like a amusement park, without any rides, just lots of shops, and a few stages for performances. we took a short walk around. Neither of us had really eaten today so we decided it was best to start with our buffet. the food was nice, lots of Thai, and Asian food. Aaron tried everything, including the fish balls. YUK. I just to the Thai curry, and rice. followed by fruit - pineapple, and watermelon! I had to wait for Aaron to stop eating, I think he must have had about 6 different plates of food. There was a show about to start, and we walked around to the stage. This place is like a kids park, but I can honestly say that I don't think I have even seen any kid, only adults. The performers came on, and were doing a dance - I think I could have done better. to be blunt, they were crap. No rhythm, no enthusiasm. RUBBISH - Couldn't want it for long, it was that crap. Walked around some of the shops, and through the tiger temple. it was a bit of a Zoo thing, that ended with 3 white tigers in a cage. once just walked up and down. It was so small, and a little cruel.
Outside the main stage you could take an elephant ride around the complex, it was pretty expensive, and we both gave it a miss. They started to call everyone into the main arena, collecting in every one's mobile phones with camera, and camera as they didn't want any photography during the show. I whipped out my memory card, just in case anything happened to my stuff, at least I have everything i had already taken. The main show was amazing, loads of animals, I never knew that elephants ran so fast! plus they all seemed pretty happy. their tails going the entire time. they did loads of stunts and acrobats. I really enjoyed it. it was even worth spending 3 hours in the strange kid park outside. The show was nearly over, and they were doing their finale... If an elephant needs to go, they need to go. A young elephant had a wee by the edge of the stage. The next thing you see is someone running behind with a mop cleaning it up! I guess they cant leave wet patch on the stage. Then the funniest part... A massive elephant our side of the stage needed to relieve himself. The cleaning staff managed to get a bucket under him to catch the gallon of wee! They held up a massive metal dustpan to his bottom, to catch the massive poo! he had to keep emptying the dustpan to catch more.! It was pretty gross, but I couldn't stop laughing. The show ended by all the elephants standing on each other, fireworks, and the audience gave a massive applause. Aaron and I ran to the counters quick to get our stuff, because there was at least 3000 people inside, and we didn't want to have to wait. arriving back at the hotel, it was about 12 o'clock. there was a s*** film on the telly that we put on, and went to sleep as we have an early start tomorrow Phi Phi Island for the 4th time! :) night. (Ha ha ha... Elephant Poo!)
