Friday we moved into our airbnb in Dover St. It's only a five minute walk from Drew and Keith's home and the photos online looked very promising. The grandeur of Rockston Place isn't quite matched by Dover St. It's more like a street in Newtown in the 1960s. Inside is comfortable, however a staircase that has no riling and needs to be climed up and down like a ladder. Ches decided to sleep downstairs on the couch.
Ches wasn't pleased when Drew took me to TK Maxx. A clearance outlet store. I returned home with more clothes than I had traveled over with.
Lee arrived mid afternoon. Emirates Business Class provided a Limo to drive her from London to Southampton. Now that's style.
Drew cooked dinner for us and Scottish friend Gillian, who'd also arrived early for his birthday. The last time we had seen Gillian was in Edinburgh 5 years ago. We'd dined in a Whisky Bar and she'd later gifted us a little felted sheep which is one of the few "nicknacks" that we still have on our cabinet. She can't not be generous. She brought us a little hamper of Scottish food .... and for Drew ... a Japanese carving knife. It's one of those sharp knifes that might even be sharp enough to carve her accent. Boy, does she have a Scottish accent.
