Ramblings of a Polymath (more like a ferret) & His S
Saturday morning, Drew and Keith drove up to Bradford on Avon to join us on a tour of the town, then Malmesbury, and then on to Chipping Campden for the weekend.
Ches had seen The Bridge Tea Room in a 1502 building earlier in the morning so we arranged to meet there. Drew had to park out of town, so Ches, Keith and I went in to get a table.
When Drew arrived, he asked the Manager (she of the photograph), "is there anything I should know?". He'd some 6 months ago asked a waiter if there was anything he'd recomend, and the waiter reponded "How can I recomend anything, I dont know you"
The manager here was quite thoughtful for around 5 seconds and then responded "Dont eat yellow snow".
It took us 5 minutes to regain our composure.

peter McNaught The bride and I have just left my brother and his wife at Canberra airport at 6.30 a.m. Heavy fog, bloody cold, unsure of where we are and how to get home to Curtin for a month's house-sitting. Drove around what turned out to be Parliament house at least 3 times. A fair bit of advice and discussion twixt driver and passenger, most of it unhelpful and certainly not for publication. Arrived rather traumatised to read your email and it took a few minutes to appreciate the manager's response. We feel we are now back to normal. Very funny. Peter and Barbara.
