After being brought to a screeming halt by Storm Isha, we never really got started again till Lee arrived from Brisbane on the Friday.
Ches baked her Rosemary and Honey Shortbread, however we mostly lay about reading and chatting. I'm not including many hours wandering around the shopping centre and lunch of two toasties and a shared ginger beer for $AUD35.00 ..... ouch!
I sourced the ingredients for making Cullen Skink for Burns Night and ordered a baking tray (from Amazon) to bake Canele for Drews Birthday. Oh, also made the batter for the Canele which has to sit for 48 hours or more.
Thursday night was Burns Night. We bought a Haggis and Drew made sensational Tatties and Neeps. I cooked the Cullen Skink, and addressed the Haggis as the elder of the Crawford/Johnstone families.
Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great Chieftain o' the Puddin-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang 's my arm.
