Test Run
Morning trip to the farmers market in the historic centre at Cirencester where we had a look inside the Cathedral then continued south for our lunch date. Heading into Wiltshire we happened to see the White Horse on the escarpment - quite a bonus. Apparently there are several chalk horses & human symbols carved into hillsides here by removing the upper layer of grass & soil to expose the chalk layer beneath & though restored they originate in ancient times. We found our way to Kingston Deverill & the beautiful home of John & Pam in a restored barn. The garden is delightful & we had lunch in the sun beside the pool with Richie & Sarah who's wedding reception was in the garden last year. They took us to walk around Stourhead Gardens nearby & we had a good chat with them as we walked. It was a great pleasure to see this beautiful part of the country & spend an afternoon with such friendly, interesting people.
