2nd full day at sea and after being in bed for the last 24+ hours we were awake bright eyed and bushy tailed by 5 am.... Well perhaps not so bright eyed because once again neither of us had a fabulous nights sleep as the ship was still rolling a bit and the constant knocking in the wall was so loud! Thank goodness we have a coffee maker in the room and were able to have a cup of tea while we planned our day using the ever helpful Daily "what's happening" guide that is left in the stateroom each night.
We were in the Garden Cafe for breakfast by 6.30. The food in the buffet is not too bad and I've found there's always plenty of vegetarian options available. After breakfast we popped back to the cabin to pick up the iPad then went in search of a nice quiet place to write up some blog entries, if I don't keep up with them I just know there will be so many little things that I will forget! As it is I'm only a day behind and already having to consult Rodd as to the order of events!
First we started in the Spinnaker lounge but being Sunday they were setting up for a church service so we didn't stay long, next stop was the Garden cafe where we managed to score a great lounger booth. We stayed there for awhile, I got a tea and some nibbles and managed to get a little bit written until a couple sat down at the table in front of us and the wife just started talking to us. It was obvious I was busy trying to "do stuff" but it would have been rude of me to ignore her I guess so for about half an hour we chatted. Finally we said we had to get going and went up to O'Sheehans (after wandering around lost for awhile) where Rodd stayed for about 5 minutes before deciding to go back to the cabin to wait for me....I was only 15 minutes behind him as we had a couples massage booked for 10.45.
Not much I can say about the massage except.... It was sooooo good! In fact it was so good we booked another for the last day of the cruise. It was expensive, very expensive but hey, we're on holiday!
By the time we finished there it was nearly 1pm which is when the Latitude Members cocktail party was being held but first we had to go back to the cabin for our invitation... Well we tried but our key cards weren't working and the room stewards key wasn't working so he had to call security up to fix the door! We did get to the cocktail party just a little late but better late than never...last cruise we were too "under the weather" and had missed this event! This is just an opportunity for the captain and senior officers to mix with the passengers and they of course do a sell job on NCL, it's ships, ports and special deals etc. We didn't really talk to anyone else but did get a couple free drinks so that was good!
Once that was over we made our way to the atrium for a visual trivia but it was packed and we couldn't find a seat so went up the stairs to O'Sheehans Bar and Grill to watch the Trivia from the balcony. We did quite well, even though we weren't actually playing but had fun guessing anyway....there was a few Aussie ones which of course we knew but in the course of the game Rodd found an Aussie couple from Melbourne so we ended up talking to them for about an hour....as you do! We left once the American football (gridiron) game started on the big screen and went to the casino for a bit of a flutter.... Started with $40 and walked away with $60 so we were definitely happy!
At about 6 ish I was getting a bit peckish so we had dinner at the Grand Pacific, the other complimentary dining room. I had a lovely samosa then Tortellini Caprese and Rodd the beef teriyaki, both of us enjoyed our meals.
I think I'm still recovering from my day in bed cos just after 8 I was struggling to keep my eyes open so left Rodd to amuse himself and went to bed!
