After such a successful long haul trip the previous day we were feeling a little cocky....So it came as a bit of a shock when everyone was more than a little tetchy when we climbed back into the car for another 5 hour journey to Longreach on Tuesday. (So wish I had some emojis to use here!) Nevertheless, we had no choice but to plough on through the outback! We passed through some outback towns such as Tambo and Blackall and stopped at Barcaldine for lunch. It was gorgeous and the site of some pretty interesting history. We saw the Tree of knowledge and the monument established there for it's remains. It's worth a google!
We arrived in Longreach mid afternoon and hit 30-ish degrees. The boys took to the pool, even though it was freezing!
Next day we headed to the Stockman's Hall of Fame which is an amazing tribute to stockmen and the history of settlement. The museum was interesting and engaging and the live show from stockman Lachie Cosser and his very talented animals, extremely interesting and funny. It was so enjoyable.
We spent the afternoon relaxing in the van as the heat crept up to the mid 30's.
