After the horrendous road it was such a relief to hit some tar coming in to Burketown. We had lunch in town at the very well-kept park before heading out of town a short way to find a riverside camp. We picked the furthest one, at the end of the line of camps. It was private, quiet and shady and had a fantastic spot to set up for fishing. Lovely, except for, of course, the sandflies. The boys unfortunately were easy prey for them, even with Areoguard and oils and mozzie coils, and by the time we left the 3 of them were a sorry sight of itchy lumps and sores, especially Jack.
Over a couple of days we fished, explored the area, relaxed in our quiet camp and frequented the Bakery/café/coffee shop. Unfortunately we had not had the pleasure of catching our own Barra so we splurged and bought some, as well as some huge prawns, and had a delicious seafood meal on our last night.

Aunty Fran & Uncle Gary Hi Foley Five. We are enjoying reading your blog. What fabulous places you have been to. Pictures are fantastic. I think you need to create your own version of the song "I've been everywhere, man" by Lucky Starr. Maybe a thought for one of your long driving days. Look forward to reading more. Enjoy
