Wow! What an amazing and unique place Coober Pedy is! On arrival it's like entering another planet! There are piles of dirt (mullock heaps) EVERYWHERE surrounding the town, strange looking trucks designed especially for Coober Pedy miners, doors going into the front of hills and chimneys coming out the top of them! We have been on a very comprehensive underground mine tour, visited two underground churches and the boys have been up to their ears in dirt, scrounging around (noodling) in dirt piles for opal!! The pic is of Lachie on the Bosuns chair which gets pulled up a shaft to the top.
