My Big Adventure
Today marked our last morning in Brisbane before we started our journey back to Sydney for our last couple of days before flying home. So as usual we got up and breakfasted, packed up all our belongings and checked out, leaving our bags with the lovely concierge. We made our way down Albert Street to the Botanical Gardens to see the market. When we arrived at the gardens we realised that the market wasn't quite what we were imagining. When we were younger it used to be a special treat for us to go to Blackbushe Market on a Sunday morning when we were visiting nan and grandad. So as we were walking up to the market we were discussing this and then we arrived at the market to see about 12 stalls! So after a couple of minutes we had looked round the market and had another few hours to spare so we decided to walk back to Southbank and spend some time by the lagoon. When we arrived at Southbank we found an even bigger market, like we were expecting to find at the Botanic Gardens. So we wandered around and looked at all the items people were selling. After we had looked around the market we grabbed a coffee and milkshake and watched the ibis and crow fight over people's leftovers. We then walked along the front and paddled in the lagoon and sat on by the waterfront reading my book. It was then time for lunch before walking back to our hotel, stopping off on route for a quick ice cream. When we arrived at the hotel we collected our bags and waited for our transfer for the airport. At the airport we looked around the shops and then waited for our plane to arrive. Because the flight arriving from Sydney was delayed letting the people off, we were slightly delayed taking off but made up good time in the air and arrived on time. We then got our transfer to the Rocks and checked in to our last stop! We arrived just in time to see the Darling Harbour fireworks so ran up to the roof to watch those before going back to our room for a relax and sleep!
