Easy drive to Adels Grove CP (10km from the NP) with most of the 90km sealed. However, shortly after the tar ended and the gravel began, I hit a steer (believed to be a Hereford) head-on. Made a mess of the bonnet and panelling but amazingly there doesn't seem to be any mechanical damage. Have jumped around on the hood, wired the bonnet closed and fingers crossed, the car is mobile. Intend to continue on as planned and get the damage assessed in Katherine or Darwin.

Trauma eased by the beauty of this place - it's great to be back after 20 years.
