So cold overnight with min temp -2c, but the swag coped beautifully. It's great to be able to setup on grass rather than mud. Dinner comprised a 1kg bag of cooked prawns and a bottle of Thousand Island sauce - I cooked!

All dirt roads out of White Cliffs remain closed so we backtracked to Wilcannia and then on to Cobar. It is bloody cold right now, so we were in bed (but not together) by 8pm. Will test out my -11 deg C rated sleeping bag (again, not Steve). Tomorrows target is Bourke but may press on if the mood takes us.

Target today was White Cliffs. First leg was about 120km to Wilcannia on a mostly dirt road. Weather was overcast but little rain was forecast. The early stage of the drive was ok but conditions deteriorated rapidly and it became clear that a lot of recent rain had occurred creating really slippery & muddy conditions. In 4wd and with tyre pressures reduced, It was still difficult keeping the car from sliding onto the road shoulders where it was very boggy. B...

Easy day today. Only 130km to Menindee. Met up with Steve, had a kiss and a cuddle and expressed how glad we were to be here together. A persistent drizzle but doesn't seem to be long term.

Camped on the Darling River. It doesn't seem to be doing as well as the Murray! Water level is low, full of weed and almost stagnant! Attached pic was my dinner this evening - absolutely brilliant spaghetti bolognese or as I know it spagbog -thanks Vicki. Will meet up with Steve tomorrow somewhere near Menindee.
