Hope you are all well ? We haven't had any internet access hence such a delay in replying to emails and updating the blog.

So, we moved on from the house sit, we decided to come South for some sunshine and it's been lovely and hot - we drove south along the Pyrennes through Gorge de Galamus - jeez what a scary drive it was through there - only one car wide with a few passing places - a small wall with sheer drop one one side and solid rocks with overhang the other - certainly the scariest drive I've ever done but great fun too !!

We had 3 nights on the coast at Argeles Sur Mer which had a nice long beach, marina and our first proper French market. It also had a mini golf and for the first time ever I took James to a draw - result :) We also went to another gorge, Gorge De La Fou - this one you walk but they have put a metal walkway the whole way through which totally spoils the gorge - James said they had worked very hard to make it as ugly as possible !

From there we've moved across to Avignon which is on the river Rhone and is another medieval type city with ramparts all around and lots of tiny alleys, cafes, shops etc - much bigger than Sarlat and really lovely to walk around. Yesterday there was a flea market / car boot to browse too.

The campsite here is in a great location, just across the Rhone from the main town so easy walking distance - it's really odd though - the toilet block is like a massive grey unit - either eastern block or school come to mind - our pitch has a 15ft grey wall (I have referred to it as the Berlin Wall) directly behind the tent - this also has the camp floodlight on it so we are bathed in light all night long - we woke up yeserday and got up thinking it was daylight and the sun wasn't even up !

Ah well, moving on tomorrow to Lyon
