Bonjour, bonjour
Hope everyone is well ? We are now in the foot of the Pyrennes on a house sit until Thursday, we're looking after a grumpy cat called Olly and a massive lurcher dog called Ronnie.
After my last blog, we moved South to Sarlat and had a couple of rainy nights there. Sarlat is a medieval city and was really interesting, loads of winding little alley ways and old churches / buildings. All the buildings in the area are built from a honey coloured stone, including those in the city which gave it a surreal look, a bit like a theme park we thought.
We met Helen and Phil, who we are house sitting for, the evening before they went on holiday and had a lovely dinner with them which we will reciprocate with when they come home on Wednesday. I have really enjoyed being in a home environment for a while - cooking in an oven and using the washing machine - but we are also both looking forward to camping again.
I have started running again, with Ronnie as company and it's nice to be running outside around the French countryside albeit it's hillier than I would like ! Today we went to a beautiful forest nearby and took the dog for a good walk and yesterday we drove across the border to Spain where cigarettes are much cheaper ! We have discovered a new love and appreciation for red wine, mainly French and incredibly cheap at less than 2 euros a bottle. Happy days !
