The last time we were in Burgos was September 2016, when we finished our first stage of the Camino de Santiago. We started in SJPP and walked 300k. We left many people in Burgos who continued their journey to Santiago. A few we have kept in touch with and who will understand our need to complete the Camino. We hope and pray that we have the good fortune that accompanied us on our first stage.
Stage two is the Meseta - approx 200k, which, if walking would take 7-8days. It is a very long and mainly flat journey. We have decided to cycle this and hope to get to Leon in 3 days.
Stage 3 - the feet start their part with the final 300k to Santiago.
I’ve read, the 3 stages are divided as follows;
Stage 1 - physical - your body adjusting to the daily challenge.
Stage 2 - emotional - the monotonous Meseta. Day after day of the same.
Stage 3 - spiritual - finding the strength to go on and get to the end.
We will be posting our small blog along “the way”. I hope you enjoy it, (but please let me know if you prefer not to receive), the photos are slightly distorted - can’t figure that out - sorry.
