Day 22/37 Arzua - Pedrouzo
A really early start 0700. A good number of pilgrims doing the same. A very misty morning but I’m being optimistic and am sure the sun is going to shine so wearing my shorts!
We stopped for coffee and the most amazing pano chocolate about 5k in. Really busy place - like Grand Central Station. One table clears and is quickly taken. Mike described it like “hot bedding”.
I spoke with Linda an older American women we have seen over the past few weeks. She has hurt her knee and is hoping to be able to still walk to Santiago - so close now.
We saw Niki and Barry - Canadians we met yesterday. Also due in Santiago tomorrow.
Easy walking again today through forest and along highways. It seems one moment you are surrounded by pilgrims and the next your walking in solitude (with each other)!
Had another stop around 1030 and had the best jamon & cheese baguette- so fresh and crunchy.
On to A Rua - last night when we were checking our accommodation location on maps it indicated it was a 3 day walk - finally figured I had booked in La Rua rather than A Rua - so close you would think! Anyway sorted that quickly through the faithful hotel website (can’t name it here) which is the pilgrims best friend on Camino.
We did stop in A Rua for a delicious salad lunch then a 20 minute walk to Pedrouzo. An apartment for the night so bought some supplies and had a night in. Watched some “Friends” episode via Netflix on iPhone! The things we do when there is only Spanish speaking TV to watch and no tennis coverage.
Early start tomorrow.
