Yesterday was spent meeting up with Bunthorn and hearing all about his plans to do a Masters degree.
We then had lunch with a slowly recovering Ian.
This morning I felt I wanted a treat so I asked the receptionist where can I get a shampoo, she said turn left until you get to the market. At the end of this very expat street is a very loc…
Liz Well he was red, so I had to name him Boris.
re: BorisJan How do you know he was called Boris?
re: BorisStephen Oakes Great - the hair dye episode made me giggle. Your exploring sounds great. Anne and I have booked for USA in Sept but thinking we enjoyed SE Asia so much that would have been a plan! Next year. X
re: Hair done and here they are again!!Jan You must be getting very fit now with all this cycling. Amazing that so far away, in such a small group, another should come from Maidstone! If Ben can't remember David how do you know they were at school together?
re: Mountain BikeLiz What I really meant was I would not just do a train journey because it was a train. In Egypt and here there were really good reasons for getting the train. Both were great in very different ways. This one took 6 hours to do a journey that takes 2 by bus - but the bus does not go across the gorge.
re: Trains in MyanmaJan I didn't know you don't care for rail journeys. 14 hours on an egyptian train and you never mentioned it.
re: Trains in MyanmaJan Sounds brilliant
re: Trek from Kalaw to Inle LakeJan Poor you. Glad to hear you are recovering.
re: Overnight to KalawNancy You seem to be losing a lot! Train stations in KL and bus stops in Yangon. It is very careless, and reminds me of the disappearing Metro station in Paris. a theme seems to be emerging!
re: Sheila is with meLiz You are so right
re: Chinese DayJan You have to be flexible, too much planning spoils the fun!
re: Chinese DayJan But did the ex-slave go the right way round to do a full circle?
re: MelakaJean Not for people with vertigo!
re: Stick insects and other creaturesLiz No turtles wrong time of year. I suspect it would be closed . As for shorts, one pair of trousers have removable legs!! Your skirt is fabulousl just right for the heat and dress code.
re: My poor legsJan Shorts! I thought you only had 2 pairs of trousers and a long skirt in your 7kg bag (that is outer wear for your bottom half).
