Went back to the national park to walk to Turtle Beach past the Memorial Lake. This time I was in walking shoes and trousers- actually shorts, yes I exposed my legs, as already stated it is hot. Right back to what I was wearing. Last time I came I wore a skirt and sandals- bit of a mistake so didn’t go as far as I would have liked. If I had been wearing those today I would have gone about 100 yards before turning back.
The main picture is the path - very clear and very easy to follow however it was a little rough!! It was also steep - the first half steep up, second half steep down. A quite needless hill with no view from the top because it was in a jungle.
I had very sensibly arrived early and was walking by 9.15am. It was lovely and the pictures do not show the noises - mostly insects but also birds and monkeys. The beach was sandy, clean and empty (or as good as) and I spent 15 minutes enjoying it before heading back. Very soon a local caught me up again, he had overtaken me on the way out as well and we chatted about the route and he said ...... so back I went to the beach to see the things I had missed.
On the way back I met a lot of people all heading for the beach, so I am really glad I went early.

Nancy ...but were there any turtles?
Jan Shorts! I thought you only had 2 pairs of trousers and a long skirt in your 7kg bag (that is outer wear for your bottom half).
Liz No turtles wrong time of year. I suspect it would be closed . As for shorts, one pair of trousers have removable legs!! Your skirt is fabulousl just right for the heat and dress code.
